Written by : PTI

A man was on Saturday arrested for allegedly making hoax calls about bombs being plated at railway stations, Government Railway Police (GRP) said.

The accused, identified as M Ashok, a cook, had made hoax calls two months ago- once from a public telephone and the second time from his wife's mobile phone about a fortnight back- stating that bombs are planted at Secunderabad and Nampally railway stations, Secunderabad GRP Inspector A Anjaneyulu said.

"During the course of investigation, police traced the caller and arrested him on Saturday. Police found that he used to make hoax calls in an inebriated condition," the Inspector told PTI.

A case under IPC sections 182 (false information with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to the injury of another person), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) and 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication).

Further investigation into the case is on.
