The News Minute | August 6, 2014 | 11.47 am ISTA Chintur-based NGO has developed a machine that is likely to make the lives of adivasi women easier in Khammam district.According to a report in The Hindu, the Association for Social and Human Action (ASHA) has developed a machine that separates the rind from mahua seeds, which adivasi women used to do. The process to do it manually is laborious and time-consuming.The NGO is now providing training to women who collected the mahua flower, locally known as Ippa Puvu. Training sessions will be held in various villages to familiarize the women with the machine, which has been named Madhu Decorticator, named after the scientific name of the mahua tree – Madhuca Longifolia.
