Hyderabad minor allegedly raped repeatedly by mother’s partner

In yet another case of a minor being raped by a person known to her, a 15-year-old in Hyderabad was allegedly raped several times by her mother’s partner. The incident was reported by the survivor’s mother on Saturday at the Pahadishareef police station. The accused, Jayaveer, a labourer who hails from Madhya Pradesh is absconding.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the girl’s mother met the accused a year ago and developed a relationship. She ran away from home in Uttar Pradesh with her two kids—daughter and son. Before coming to Hyderabad and working at a chocolate making unit, they were staying at Vijayawada.

The accused raped the girl when she was alone at home, according to her complaint. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under POSCO act and IPC section 376 (punishment for rape) against Jayaveer.    

“When her mother was not home, Jayaveer coerced the girl into submission and raped her several times,” Pahadisharif inspector P Lakshmikanth Reddy told The Times of India.

Recentlyin December, a five-year-old was found raped and killed by a construction worker in Alkapuri, Hyderabad. The accused, D Dinesh, a native of Madhya Pradesh, reportedly lured the girl with chocolates and took her to an isolated place and killed her before raping her.

The girl’s body was found in bushes in Alkapuri area with her head smashed. Police later arrested the 23-year-old accused after the girl’s parents suspected him. The accused was charged under various sections of IPC for kidnap, rape and murder.
