The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday asked Telangana government to preserve the bodies of the eight Maoists who were killed by the police in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh yesterday as a human rights organisation has moved the court alleging that the encounter was fake.

Advocate V Raghunath, the lawyer of Telangana Civil Liberties Committee, orally mentioned the matter before a division bench headed by Chief Justice D B Bhosale and sought an order to the state to file a report.

The bench asked him to file a proper petition, scheduling a hearing tomorrow.

It also asked the state government to preserve the bodies.

Eight Maoists, five of them women, were killed in an encounter with Greyhounds, the anti-Naxal force of Telangana police, in a forest in Sukma district yesterday. The area is close to Telangana's Khammam district.
