Beef could be banned if we are not elected, Owaisi tells Hyderabad

Written by : TNM Staff

Ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections on Monday, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has asked people to vote for the party if they want to eat beef.

Addressing a public meeting ahead of the GHMC elections, he said beef may be banned if the party was not voted to power in the upcoming GHMC polls.

"I am not trying to scare you. But, the fact is if we don't come to power, there may be a scope for ban on beef (in Hyderabad) on pretext of faith,'' Owaisi said.

If someone else comes to power then beef ban can become a reality, he claimed.
