The Madras High Court on Thursday granted interim bail to racer Vikash Anand for writing his law examinations.

The judge said that the petitioner’s counsel and the prosecution revealed that Vikash is a second-year law student at School of Excellence under Dr. Ambedkar Law University. He is a BBA-LLB student and has exams from October 7, 2016.

Considering his examinations are till October 18, the judge granted him interim bail from October 7 to 20, 2016, reports The Times of India.

The judge has asked him to execute a personal bail bond for Rs 10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, to the satisfaction of XVIII metropolitan magistrate at Saidapet.

Vikash has to report before the magistrate at 10:30 am on October 21.

On September 22 this year, racing driver Vikash Anand was arrested by Chennai police on charges of killing one man and injuring 11 others while allegedly driving his Porsche car in a drunken state. The police also arrested T Chandrakumar, who was the other passenger in the car.

The two have been charged under Sections 304 (2) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 109 (abetment), and 114 (abettor present when offence is committed) of the IPC, reports The Times of India.
