Kollywood actor Vijay’s Makkal Iyakkam will not be extending their support, directly or indirectly to any political party for the upcoming state assembly elections, said N.Anand, Secretary of the group through a press release.

Anand also added that the fans are not authorized to use the name of the actor or the flag of the Iyakkam in support of any party.

He appealed to the fans of Ilayathalapathy to cast their vote for the candidate of their choice.

He insisted that the rumours doing rounds about Vijay extending his support to a “particular” party are false and baseless.

Earlier, reports had emerged in the media stating that several sections of the Vijay's fanbase were being asked informally to support the DMK.
