Two die of illness, seven others hit by heatstroke at Jayalalithaa's Vridhachalam rally

Two AIADMK party members died in hospital after they fell ill while attending the election meeting addressed by AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa in Virudachalam on Monday. Several others were also reportedly injured during the rush at the rally.

 Radhakrishnan of Jayamkondam and Karunakaran David of Chidambaram were taken to the Virudachalam Government Hospital and referred to the Villupuram General Hospital where he died, while Karunakaran died at Cuddalore GH.

According to a party release a solatium would be given to their families after election, since the model code of conduct was in place. Seven others were admitted to the general hospital reportedly after suffering heat stroke.
