Retired Chennai cop fearing for life gets AK-47 protection

The News Minute | March 14, 2015 | 09.00 am ISTA retired cop, who feared for his life from a prisoner who had jumped parole, has been given protection by a guard wielding an AK-47.P Sukumar, aged 62 had earlier filed a complaint after a convict, Jayakumar, arrested over some murders in 2007 jumped parole while on a visit to see his family, reported Times of India. He had earlier threatened the cop and vowed to kill him, said the report. Ever since Jayakumar went absconding on February 22, the retired inspector had feared for his life.
