Police to investigate Kochadaiiyaan entertainment tax fraud

The News Minute| October 8, 2014| 08.30 am ISTChennai police has been directed to look into a case of alleged entertainment fraud regarding Rajinikanth-starrer Kochadaiiyaan.Released in 3D in Tamil and five other languages, the film was exempted from paying entertainment tax by the state government, said The Times of India. Despite the exemption, the theatre collected entertainment tax, said the report. According to the counsel, the the production house made large profits because of the tax exemption. The petition was then filed against the principal secretary of commercial tax department over the issue, said the report.
