Media denied permission to enter DMDK meet in Vellore

Written by : TNM Staff

The fight between DMDK chief Vijayakanth and media reached another level with  reporters being denied entry to a meeting organized by the party at Walajapet in Vellore on Thursday.

According to media reports, reporters and crew had an argument with the security personnel after being denied entry. However, a reporter from Captain TV informed that reporters were trying to enter the venue through a wrong gate and were later allowed inside from the right gate.

It all started on December 27, 2015 when Vijayakanth spat at a journalist saying why he dared not question AIADMK and accused the journalist of being fearful.  Three days later a protest was organized against Vijayakanth by Chennai Journalists Association and Indiya Makkal Mandram where journalists were attacked. The journalists accused the attackers of being DMDK party members. An AIADMK lawyer had also filed a case against Vijayakanth for spitting on journalists.
