A 30-year-old DMK cadre died on Thursday due to heart attack in Chennai while he was waiting for actor Khushbu Sundar to arrive at the venue for her campaigning.

Manimangalam police told The Times of India that C Boopathy was suffering from heart problems and was taking treatment at a private hospital. They also said that he was advised not to take too much pressure. He was an active party member and was campaigning for the party for the past few days.

Boopathy swooned and was immediately taken to a private hospital. They declared him dead on arrival, according to TOI.

The party did not register any complaints and the body was taken for last rites.

However, when Khushbu reached the venue she was informed about the incident, she extended her condolences and left the venue without addressing the people.
