The News Minute | January 29, 2015 | 09.40 am ISTCommotion ensued ahead of the filing of nomination papers by BJP candidate M Subramaniam in Tiruchy after objections were raised by the AIADMK and Congress over cases against him. The objections were raised against him for not mentioning the three cases against Subramaniam , one including a Rs. 2 crore fraud and a threat to life, that had been filed against him, reported The New Indian Express. The Returning Officer however accepted the nominations. Subramaniam’s counsel advocate however said that since no charge sheet had been filed against him, there was no necessity to include them in the list. Meanwhile the Madrash High Court bench in Madurai granted Subramaniam and three principals of engineering colleges anticipatory bail in a 2011 cheating case lodged against him. A software firm had then said that the colleges had cheated them of Rs. 1.13 crore, said the report. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
