Utterly shameful: Swanky train turns to dumpster just a week after flag off

Written by : TNM Staff

A week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the "Mahamana Express", touted as the first major upgrade in facilities and design in a passenger train in India, pictures of coaches littered with papers and plastic and clogged basins have emerged on social media.

Some of the pictures taken by Dainik Bhaskar have evoked strong reactions from social media users, with many urging passengers to behave responsibly.

Earlier last month, the Indian Railways unveiled refurbished coaches with aesthetically appealing and improved interior furnishing in an attempt to provide better amenities to passengers.
