Move over debit/credit cards, this Bengaluru restaurant now lets you pay in bitcoins

If you eat out a restaurant, you have several options of paying the bill from cash to debit/credit cards to digital wallets like PayTM. But a restaurant in Bengaluru is now providing the option of settling your bill in bitcoins as per a Bloomberg report by Nishant Sharma.

The Suryavanshi restaurants at Indiranagar and Whitefield in Bengaluru are possibly the only ones in the city and probably one of the few in the country, to offer this mode of payment.

“Bitcoin is a big financial disruption and I wanted to be the early adopters of this technology. It is nothing but internet of money,” said Tejas Suryavanshi, the owner of the restaurant.

The cryptocurrency allows users to spend money anonymously as it is not linked to a bank or the government.

Tejas was introduced to the currency about 11 months ago through a friend and he did his own research before adopting it as a mode of payment at his restaurants, the report says.

Has the experiment been successful?
