The New Delhi police on Saturday, arrested a 33-year-old advocate with a Noida-based corporate firm from a mall in Saket on charges of filming women secretly with a spy camera tucked between the lace of his shoe.

According to a report in the Indian Express, a store manager at the mall spotted Ashish Sharma moving suspiciously, and alerted the police, who recovered 10 obscene video clips from his spy camera and mobile phone.

“On the basis of Arora’s complaint, a case was registered under sections 354-C and 354-D (stalking) of the IPC at Saket police station. Sharma was arrested and later released on bail,” DCP (South) Prem Nath told the newspaper.

According to the complaint, Sharma was putting his right leg near girls, especially those wearing short dresses and skirts. When the mall security was informed and tried to approach him, he allegedly tried to escape.

After a short chase, they nabbed Sharma, and found a spy camera between the lace of his right shoe, with obscene videos.

Sharma reportedly admitted his mistake and wrote an apology letter to the mall staff.
