Cairo: An Egypt court Saturday ordered the dissolution of the banned Muslim Brotherhood group's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) and to liquefy all of its assets.

Egypt's High Administrative Court said it was clear that the Muslim Brotherhood's political wing FJP breached its principles and targets, MENA news agency reported.

The party was a source of threat to the Egyptian democratic regime and national security, according to the ruling.

"Having found that the Muslim Brotherhood is a part of its international organisation and that the group's supreme guide is the leader of the whole organisation, the court believes that the party is ideologically affiliated to the international network," the court said.

"Therefore, the party fails to meet the conditions of its political mission," the court said, ruling, "The FJP's assets shall be handed over to the state assets."

To put its ruling into force, the court also ordered that a committee be formed and chaired by the prime minister to take over the liquidation of the assets.

Its parent body, the Muslim Brotherhood, was also ordered to be dissolved in October last year in a similar ruling, distinguishing it as a terrorist organisation.

The prosecution investigations proved to the court that the party's members were involved in violent and terrorist crimes.
