Dornier search called off, remains of 3 pilots and aircraft parts found

 The search mission for the Dornier aircraft has been called off after 34 days after the discovery of the remains of three missing crew on board the aircraft.The Indian Coast Guard commander Inspector General SP Sharma at a press conference held in Chennai said that almost 70 to 80 percent of the debris of the missing Dornier aircraft had been recovered.Along with the debris, some bones and a wristwatch was also found in the wreckage that was recovered from the depths of the sea from around 950 metre, said Sharma. The search efforts were conducted using the Reliance-owned Remotely Operated Vessel , MV Olympic Canyon.The remains recovered from the wreckage will be sent to the TN Forensic Laboratory for DNA tests, said Sharma.After the discovery of parts of the wreckage last week, search efforts were renewed. The aircraft was carrying three crew members -  pilot,  Deputy Commandant Vidyasagar; co-pilot Deputy Commandant Subash Suresh, and navigator Deputy Commandant MK Soni.
