Islamabad: A couple was shot dead in an alleged case of honour killing in Pakistan's Punjab province, media reported on Sunday.

Both the boy and the girl lived in Chakwal city of the province with their families, and fell in love, but the elders of the families refused to give consent to their marriage, Dawn online reported.

Police said the couple eloped July 9 and got married in a court and the woman's family registered a kidnapping case with the city police station on July 12.
