A Central Board of Secondary Education competition for students on leader Deendayal Upadhyayahas irked leaders of Tamil organisations in the state who believe that it is a ruse to spread RSS ideology.

The competition that was open to students from 19 September to 22 September asked participants to write on Deendayal Upadhyaya, a leader who worked closely with the RSS.

However, tamil leaders have demanded that this competition be dropped and pointed out that this was a method to spread Hinduvta ideology among students by the BJP government, said the New Indian Express

A former DMK minister Durai Murugan said that BJP under PM Modi was using CBSE to propagate Hinduvta ideologue. Leaders were also worried that searching for the Deendayal Upadhyaya’s name online brought up the BJP official website in its results.

Another leader K Ramakrishnan, general secretary of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam told that this meant that RSS had complete control over BJP, according to the report.
