Will impose Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act on illegal financiers: Home Minister

The News Minute | May 31, 2014 | 3:26 PM IST Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Saturday said that the government plans to impose Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, (KAPA) on illegal financiers and loan sharks. This law will be enforced in the next phase of Operation Kubera, the Home Ministry's initiative to curb the issue of blade mafia. Talking to the media, Chennithala said that all those who indulge in the money chain swindling will be brought to justice. He also said that the additional amendments regarding the issue will be introduced in the next assembly section. Chennithala also assured that the law, will not be misused. Action will also be taken against the police officials who have relations with the blade mafia and other money chain rackets. He also said that many are trying to undermine Operation Kubera. Chennithala spoke while addressing a group of senior police officials.
