Sachin Tendulkar will be the face of Kerala’s anti-drug campaign. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared that Sachin will be the brand ambassador for the campaign at a press meet held in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

The meeting was held in order to announce the new investors in Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The decision to rope in new investors comes after PVP Ventures, who owned the rest of the shares apart from 40% shares owned by Sachin, backed out owing to a financial crisis.

According to reports, a Hyderabad-based company, Prasad Group, in which Telugu actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and producer Allu Aravind are partners, are the new investors in the team. They will invest in the majority of the shares including the 20 per cent that Sachin owns.

The decision to start a residential football academy in Kerala was also declared at the press meet.
