Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Sudesh Kumar has filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) Loknath Behera against his police driver Gavaskar. The driver had recently been hospitalized after an alleged assaulted by Sudhesh Kumar's daughter.

Sudesh Kumar in his complaint alleged that Gavaskar was injured when he drove the vehicle rashly and not because his daughter assaulted him.

This complaint was filed by the ADGP as the Crime branch has been asked to probe the complaint filed by Gavaskar against the ADGP’s daughter.

Mathrubhumi has reported that the medical report claims that the driver was indeed assaulted by the daughter and he had injury marks.

The ADGP's daughter, a karate black belt, was apparently upset that Gavaskar had come late.

She accused of abusing Gavaskar and hitting him with her mobile telephone. He is now warded in the Medical College Hospital.

DGP Loknath Behera has handed over the complaint filed by the ADGP to the Crime Branch team.

Following the incident of the driver being allegedly attacked, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday made it clear that senior police officials won't be allowed to use junior  police personnel for their personal work.

Vijayan made the remarks in the Assembly in reply to a submission by Congress legislator K.S. Sabarinath. He pointed out that this practise first began during the British Raj and still prevailed seven decades later.

Around 2,000 policemen are currently deployed by officials at their homes, and often they end up doing menial work.

Additional Director General of Police Sudesh Kumar, the chief of the Kerala Armed Police Battalion, was shunted out on Saturday following complaints of bad behaviour and violation of rules by him and his family members.

Vijayan told the Assembly that that a Crime Branch officer was probing the case. "There will be no undue delay in the probe," he added.
