LDF continues winning streak in first local body polls after assuming power in Kerala

The results of the by-elections held on Thursday to elect representatives to the various local bodies in Kerala were declared on Friday.

In the by-election held to 15 local body wards in 11 districts of Kerala, the LDF won  7 out of the 15 wards. 

According to reports, UDF emerged second winning 5 wards and BJP won in 3 wards. BJP's Ashanath won the Pappanamcode ward, thereby retaining position. 

The by-election was held there after BJP councillor K. Chandran passed away in April. Ashanath is his niece.
