Written by : TNM Staff

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday said that educational institutions that demand capitation fee will face stringent action.

Speaking to reporters in Alappuzha, Pinarayi said that collecting capitation fee was a form of bribe and that it will be considered a corrupt practice.

He pointed out that allegations against many aided colleges demanding capitation fee even for degree courses, were brought to the government’s notice.

He further assured that the government is committed to eliminating such practices.

“This is not a decision taken in haste. The government has put enough thought into the matter and is committed to stop such commercial practices,” he was quoted as saying.
