How a viral Facebook video paved way for meeting with CM for Kerala boy

Written by : TNM Staff

A boy lies face down on a bed, refusing to show his face. When his mother, who is filming him, asks him what the reason for his stubborn behaviour is, he says that he wants to meet Kerala’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

“Will you be able to meet him if you cry like this? We’ll meet him when he comes to Kannur next time,” says Aadhi’s mother.

This assurance does little to calm the boy down, who is adamant that he wants to meet the CM. Although his mother tries to pacify him by saying that he will get more chances to meet the CM, Aadhi is in no mood to listen to any sort of reasoning!

This video of the young boy from Kannur district went viral on social media after it was shared on Facebook in late January by his mother Rasina Ranjith.

Days after this, Aadhi finally got to meet the Kerala Chief Minister in Kannur. In a Facebook post, Rasina shared a photograph from the meeting.

Aadhi also presented Pinarayi Vijayan a portrait of the CM. In a short video from the meeting, Aadhi can be seen sitting next to the CM, even as Kannur CPI (M) district secretary P Jayarajan and a few other party leaders are present in the room.

After the first video garnered much attention on social media, Rasina took to Facebook to say that Pinarayi Vijayan had gotten in touch with Aadhi over phone and promised that he would meet the boy.

“The CM has assured him that he will meet him in person very soon. Aadhi wants to share his happiness with all of you,” the post read.
