Twenty three years after sister Abhaya was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a convent in Kottayam another nun’s dead body was discovered on Thursday morning in same district.

Sixty nine year old sister Amala was part of Lisieux Carmel convent in Pala, Kottayam.

Around 6 am when sister Amala did not come to the convent chapel to receive the Holy Communion another nun in the convent decided to check on her.

They found her dead body lying in a pool of blood with some blood flattered on the walls of her room. Top Police officers of Kottayam district has reached the spot.

A police source told The News Minute that though it was too early to speculate anything, prima facie it looks like murder and the nun seems to have received injuries on her head.

According to media reports the nun had been feeling unwell and was even hospitalized a few days ago. During the last two days though she had been not attending holy mass she had turned up to receive communion. Some media reports also suggest that the police are investigating two angles, a robbery attempt and whether the nun slipped and fell, resulting in the fatal injury.
