Written by : TNM

The News Minute | December 4, 2014 | 08:36 am IST Two men were killed and several others injured when a swarm of rock bees attacked a weekly market in Devanahalli on Wednesday, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. The bees hive apparently was in the market for close to a year, and the bees had previously never bothered anyone. Rock bees do not attack unless provoked and it is likely someone disturbed the hive, probably by throwing a stone at it,, an expert told Bangalore Mirror. After the attack, twenty three people who were severely stung were admitted to a hospital. The two killed were both vegetable vendors. The bee hive has been now removed from the market.
