Siddaramaiah's son hospitalised in Belgium after he complains of severe stomach pain

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s elder son Rakesh Siddaramaiah has been hospitalized in Belgium, after he developed complications in his pancreas.

The 39-year-old is reported to have been on tour with friends, when he complained of stomach pain and was admitted toUniversity Hospital, Brussels.

Dismissing rumours of Rakesh’s possible involvement in a road accident, CM clarified that his son has been hospitalized in a critical condition.

Deccan Herald quotes CM as saying, “He is little critical, but stable. He is responding to the treatment. I will be leaving for Belgium at 4.30 am tomorrow (Thursday)”.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, Rakesh has been experiencing pancreatic and liver problems after he met with an accident in 2000, after which he had been complaining about pain in the abdomen. He is reported to have been advised strict diet by doctors.

CM had also sought the intervention of External Minister Sushma Swaraj in ensuring that Rakesh is given proper treatment.
