Over 50 percent of water supplied to Bengaluru lost due to leakage and pilferage

The News Minute | March 23, 2015 | 09:15 am IST Over fifty percent of water supplied to the city by Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board is lost due to leakage and pilferage, states a report by The Hindu. This was mentioned in the latest Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report tabled in the Legislative Assembly on March 20. The CAG also mentions that there is no trace of the over 50.90 percent of water supplied to the city. The unaccounted for water (UFW) through leakage is a staggering 38 per cent, with public taps being a major contributor towards the loss, states The Hindu report. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
