'Molestor KC Venugopal not welcome here': Karnataka BJP mocks Cong over solar scam

The multi-crore Solar Scam in Kerala is now rocking neighbouring Karnataka as well. Now, the opposition BJP is demanding the sacking of KC Venugopal, who was recently made the General Secretary of All India Congress Committee in charge of poll-bound Karnataka.

On Friday, the women's wing of the BJP’s Karnataka unit held a protest against KC Venugopal, at Bengaluru’s Maurya Circle.

The demonstrations were led by Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje.

"We have come to know that KC Venugopal had sexually assaulted a few women. The Congress has welcomed such a rapist and molester of women into our state. We demand that the Congress leaders including Siddaramaiah, KJ George and Dinesh Gundurao talk to the high command and ask for Venugopal to leave the state,” the MP told reporters.

“If the Congress does not heed to our demand, we will hold black flags wherever Venugopal goes. We will even go to New Delhi and hold a protest outside the Congress headquarters," she added.

The Alappuzha MP along with many colleagues including former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy will be probed for allegedly sexually assaulting the Solar scam prime accused Saritha Nair.

“Criminal cases will be taken against all those named by Saritha Nair in her latter. Though the solar commission found her allegations were true, the SIT did not probe this,” Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said on Wednesday.

The probe will be based on a letter by Saritha in 2013 where she alleges that these senior politicians have had received sexual favours and accepted bribes.
