Lokayukta files three FIRs against Yeddyurappa in illegal land denotification scam

 The Lokayukta police on Friday registered three FIRs against former chief minister and current BJP vice- president B S Yeddyurappa in connection with illegal denotification of land based on a complaint filed by social activist Jayakumar Hiremath in 2014, reported Deccan Herald.Hiremath’s complaint was based on the report of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in 2012 and the case was then referred to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for investigation. The CAG report had found 40 such instances of illegal land denotification which took place between 2007 and 2012 when HD Kumaraswamy and BS Yeddyurappa were chief ministers. In all three FIRs filed, Yeddyurappa has been named as the main accused along with officials from Urban Development Department, Bangalore Development Authority and original owners of the land, said the report.While two FIRs are concerning denotification of land in Kothnur village in JP Nagar, the third case is in connection with the denotification of land in Bilekahalli village which currently BTM Layout 4th stage.
