The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party is considering legal action over the ‘supari killer’ comment made by the chief minister’s media advisor Dinesh Amin Mattu.

In a seminar on Sunday in Shivamogga, Mattu had called BJP the “supari killer” of RSS.

A day later, BJP MLA and former law minister Suresh Kumar called Dinesh Amin Mattu the “supari killer” of the Congress party.

Kumar told The News Minute on Tuesday that the party is contemplating legal action. Amin Mattu should be careful about what he says as he is a responsible position, he said.

“It doesn’t really look nice when a person uses strong words like “supari killer” at the tip of the tongue to only condemn a national level party. We will initiate a discussion on this with the senior party leaders soon and decide whether a case needs to be filed against Mattu,” said Suresh Kumar. However, Suresh Kumar refuted rumours about BJP planning to file a defamation case against Mattu. 

During the seminar organized by the B Krishnappa faction of the Dalit Sangharsh Samiti on nationalism, Amin Mattu had said that he was not opposing the BJP as a political party. “In a democratic set-up, the BJP too constests elections and attains power. But the RSS invisibly rules without contesting elections, by controlling the government. Despite not being a political party, (the RSS) controls a political party. This works against democracy,” Amin Mattu had said.
