Three days after two Kannada actors, Uday and Anil, drowned during a film stunt-sequence shoot at Tippagondanahalli in Bengaluru, the body of Anil has been fished out. The search teams found his body at 5:50am on Thursday.
Uday’s body was found on Wednesday evening. The NDRF and SDRF teams had been leading the search.
The two actors were a shooting a stunt scene for the film Maasti Gudi, along with Duniya Vijay, when the mishap happened. All the three of them jumped from a helicopter into a water body. While Vijay swam to safety, the other two drowned and died.
Duniya Vijay, in an appeal on television, asked people not to circulate pictures of the bodies on social media.
"I request the people to refrain from circulating pictures of the body. We are going to file complaints against those who had circulated Uday's body on social media yesterday. This is insensitive," Vijay said.
Magadi police inspector Manjunath had earlier said that the postmortem could be conducted at the spot. "In such situations, the postmortem is usually conducted at the spot so that family members do not have to run around too much to get the body."
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) on Wednesday barred Duniya Vijay, director Nagashekar and stunt director Ravi Verma from taking up film projects for the time being, according to a report by Times of India.
Over 300 police personnel, members of NDRF and fire department, and the swimming team from Puducherry have been working on the search operation.
Bengaluru officials say that the team did not have permission to shoot in water.
A case has been registered against the film director, producer and action director.
The makers have been heavily criticised for not paying heed to safety protocols during the shoot.
