The body of one of the actors who drowned in the Thippagondanahalli reservoir on Monday was retrieved on Wednesday afternoon by rescue workers.

The body has been identified as Uday's.

Magadi police inspector Manjunath said that the postmortem could be conducted at the spot. "In such situations, the postmortem is usually conducted at the spot so that family members do not have to run around too much to get the body."

If the postmortem is performed at the spot, government doctors from Magadi or Tavarekere will be brought in. The body could orelse be taken to Victoria hospital in Bengaluru. Senior police officers are yet to take a call on it.

A swimming team from Puducherry had landed in the city on Tuesday to help with the search operations.

"Last night, the search team saw one of the bodies in the reservoir through underwater cameras. And we retrieved it today," he added.

On Monday, actors Duniya Vijay, Uday and Anil jumped from a helicopter into the TG Halli reservoir during the shoot of Kannada film "Maastigudi".
