How did Siddaramaiah answer survey question on religion?

Written by : TNM

Two curiosities emerged on Thursday when enumerators turned up at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s house for the Socio-Economic Survey.First, Siddaramaiah appeared to be stumped when he couldn’t answer questions about his income when enumerators questioned him. The New Indian Express reported that Siddaramaiah had trouble answering questions about his annual income until chairperson of the Backward Classes Commission Kantharaj prompted him to answer the question based on his salary. At this point too, he required the help of his Personal Assistant Srinivas. He also described himself as a “Hindu” when asked for his religion, although the survey allows one to describe themselves as atheist, and also simultaneously answer questions on caste as well as religion. In the past, Siddaramaiah had often described himself as an atheist.
