In a tragic incident, a father allegedly stabbed his 19-year-old son on Saturday night, for stopping him from beating his wife.

Reports say that the incident occurred in Azadnagar police station limits of Devanagere district. The victim has been identified as Kiran, son of Karibasappa.

Kiran was at the receiving end of fury, when he tried to stop a drunk Karibasappa from beating up his mother, who was then allegedly stabbed with a knife. He sustained injuries in the stomach and head and was rushed to District Government Hospital and is out of danger.
