The row over Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah’s luxury watch only seems to be getting bigger by the week.

Five days after JD (s) leader HD Kumaraswamy released a video with the price of Siddaramaiah's Swiss brand Hublot watch, to the media, BJP state president Prahlad Joshi on Sunday reportedly said that he would raise the issue in Parliament during the budget session, which is starting on February 23, reported Times of India.

He has also demanded an inquiry by enforcement authorities.

“The CM should clarify on the value of the Hublot watch he claims to have received as gift. He should also clarify whether he paid the custom duty and reveal the source of income. If he fails do so by February 23, I will raise the issue in the Lok sabha seeking an inquiry,” Joshi said.

Joshi said that if the watch was indeed a gift, then Siddaramaiah should not be reluctant to declare the name of the person who gifted it, reported TOI.

The newspaper quoted another BJP leader saying “There are also reports that he has some more expensive watches including Rolex.”

“We want to know why it was gifted to him, since there could be an ulterior motive,” Joshi added.

This is an aggregated report from Times of India.
