BJP MP accuses Congress minister Roshan Baig of ‘eliminating’ RSS’ Rudresh

Days after four suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of RSS man Rudresh in Shivajinagar in Bengaluru, BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje on Friday alleged the involvement of a Congress minister in the murder.

The New Indian Express reports that the BJP leader accused Infrastructure Minister Roshan Baig for allegedly hiring contract killers to “eliminate” Rudresh, whose rising popularity had disturbed the minister.

Shoba Karandlaje went on to demand an NIA probe into the murder case and also demanded Baig's resignation. The Udupi-Chikkamgalur MP's statements, reportedly backed by BJP state general secretary CT Ravi and former BJP MLC Go Madhusudan, was made based on the "general public opinion in Shivajinagar," the report says.

"If Baig is not behind the murder of Rudresh, he should impress upon chief minister Siddaramaiah to call for a cabinet meeting and hand over the investigation to a central investigating agency," Shoba Karandlaje was quoted as saying by The Times of India

Minister Baig lashed out at Shoba Karandlaje following her allegations that he is directly involved in the murder.

Baig said that the BJP was trying to disrupt the communal harmony in the constituency and that he will proceed to file a defamation case against the BJP MP.
