The News Minute | November 27, 2014 | 11:27 am IST Organisers of the Kiss of Love event in Bengaluru reportedly are planning to go ahead with the event on Sunday, despite the city police having denied them permission. The Hindu reports that 'an organiser of the event told The Hindu that they will defy the police orders and go ahead with their plan.'Farmis Hashim, the organiser of the event in Kochi, said they were trying to conduct the event by gathering support from people. “We are concerned about the safety of the participants and the event will be planned keeping these considerations. The venue and timings would be intimated shortly,” he told The Hindu. The Kiss of Love event in Bangalore has been shrouded in controversy since its inception. The campaign, which is a protest against moral policing in the country, has been opposed by many and threats have been issued to  the organisers. Read: Case registered against Muthalik for threatening 'Kiss of Love' organisers in BengaluruIt seemed to be a huge setback for the organisers of the event when the Bengaluru police denied them permission to conduct the protest in the city on November 30. The police had denied permission saying that it will lead to a display of kissing in public, which is an “obscene act”. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Police Commissioner M N Reddi also said that one of the organizers Rachita Taneja had sought permission to hold the event at Town Hall between 4 and 6 pm. Reddi said that she had said that she would not take responsibility for any untoward incident. Read: Bengaluru police deny permission to Kiss of Love eventThe Kiss of Love organisers, however, remain undeterred and are holding on to every possibility of conducting the event. The group of organisers of on Wednesday met M N Reddi, additional commissioner of police Alok Kumar and DCP (Central) Sandeep Patil and discussed how the event could still be held, reports Bangalore Mirror. They reportedly were asked the same questions that Taneja was asked earlier, and the organisers have decided to return with a detailed report.
