Bangalore Police open rowdy sheets against men who attacked Manipuri students

The News Minute | September 17, 2014 | 09:12 am ISTThe Bangalore Police have opened rowdy sheets against the three men who assaulted three Manipuri students on Tuesday night, reports The New Indian Express. This means the police will keep a close eye on them. The three assailants are Arun, Kumar, Karunakara and James were arrested and sent to Parappana Agrahara jail on Wednesday.The incident took place on Tuesday at a roadside eatery where the three Manipuri students, Michael Haokip, Rocky Kipgen, and Ngamkholen Haokip, were eating. The three men had also come to the same eatery and soon began to heckle the students. “They said that we were eating Kannada food, and so we should know how to speak Kannada. We tried to ignore them, and replied in Hindi. They told us not to speak Hindi", said one of the students. Soon the men attacked the students. The students filed a complaint with the Kothanur police station. While Rocky and Ngamkholen had sustained minor injuries, Michael sustained head injuries that required five stitches to the forehead, besides swelling on the back of the head and shoulder bruising.
