Animal sacrifice at Duniya Vijay's film release?

The News Minute | October 2, 2014 | 5.37 pm ISTDuniya Vijay’s film Simhadri was released in theatres on Thursday but in Davangere district, an animal sacrifice was performed.According to news reports, the heads of several chickens were cut and the blood spilled on posters and even the entrance to the theatre, English news channel News 9 reported.Called a “rakta abhisheka”, roughly translate as pouring of blood, the ritual appears to be a variation of the “paal abhisheka”, in which milk is poured on the object of workship. Ten chickens were killed. The entrance to the film theatre was reportedly quite bloody.Police are likely to take action.Kannada actor Vijay gets the name Duniya from the film Duniya, which propelled him to fame.
