Having delivered a blockbuster with Theri earlier this year,  Ilayathalapathy Vijay and director Atlee will reunite for another project sometime next year.

The film will be bankrolled by Thenandal Films and will feature screenplay by Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad.

The latest update on the project is that the official announcement of the cast and crew will be made after Diwali and the project will go on floors by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, the makers have had a change of heart and are said to be keen to rope in double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman instead of Prakash.

Sources say that this project was finalized even before the release of Theri, and Atlee hasn't signed any new project because he was very keen to work on this film and was willing to wait. 

Vijay, is currently busy wrapping up Bairavaa with Bharathan which is inching closer to completion, and the project will hit the screens as planned during Pongal of 2017.
