Third poster of Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’ ups the intrigue for the political thriller

Written by : TNM Staff

The first two posters that came out had shown just Mohanlal, the lead actor, in action. Lucifer in half mirrored text, Mohanlal in white, a three-word tagline saying ‘Blood Brotherhood Betrayal’. Now, Prithviraj Sukumaran, directing his first movie, has put out the third poster, showing five of Lucifer’s main actors in it.

Through a Facebook post on Friday that only says ‘Leaked poster #3 #Lucifer’, actor-turned-director Prithvi released the poster that shows, besides Mohanlal, actors Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi and Tovino Thomas – all with varied sombre expressions. There is a black car in the background and bits of fire.

The story is by actor-writer Murali Gopy. Murali and the Sukumaran brothers have previously worked together in the movie Tiyaan, which the former wrote and acted in. Murali, who wrote the political movie Left Right Left in 2013, is believed to have scripted Lucifer, another political thriller. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

About a month ago, Prithvi posted that the shooting for Lucifer has been wrapped up. The film is expected to release on March 28. While nothing much has been revealed about the plot, earlier reports suggest that Mohanlal portrays a politician called Stephen Nedumballi and Saniya Iyappan, who made her debut in the film Queen, plays Manju Warrier’s daughter.

Others in the supporting cast include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas, Nyla Usha and Mala Parvathy. Cinematography is by Sujith Vaassudev who has earlier directed Prithviraj in the drama film James and Alice. Samjith is in charge of editing and Stephen Devassy has composed the music for the film.

The film has been shot in various places in Kerala, including Ernakulam, Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram, as well as in Mumbai. Some important portions were also canned in Lakshadweep and Russia.
