The much awaited Lucifer marks the first directorial venture of Mollywood star Prithviraj and went on floors recently. Superstar Mohanlal will be playing the lead role in Lucifer. If sources are anything to go by, Mohanlal will be seen playing a politician and he will be essaying a character named Stephen Nadumballi in this much-awaited movie.
The filmmakers had recently released the first look poster of the film. In the poster, a man can be seen sitting on the chair in a white mundu with a tagline that reads, ‘Blood. Brotherhood. Betrayal.’ The first poster is quite intriguing and it only makes the wait harder for the film.
Prithviraj will take a break from acting to focus on his directorial debut. The film’s shooting is expected to be completed by end of this year. Besides Prithviraj and Mohanlal, the film also stars Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran among others.
Recently, it was confirmed that Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has been signed up to play an important role in the film and reports are that Vivek may be seen as Mohanlal's brother. The film is being bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Films. The technical crew of the film includes Sujith Vasudevan for cinematography and Samjith for editing.
Lucifer was the brainchild of late director Rajesh Pillai and Murali Gopy. They both wanted to make the film years ago. However, the project never saw the light of day.
Currently, Mohanlal is busy with the shoot of reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam.
He also has Odiyan, being directed by VA Shrikumar Menon. The film’s shooting began last year and is expected to hit the marquee later this year. Apart from these two films, Mohanlal also has Kayamkulam Kochunni in his kitty, where he plays a cameo and Priyadarshan's Marakkar. Mohanlal’s Neerali, a mystery thriller directed by Ajoy Varma, released recently on July 13.
