Malayalam star kid Pranav, son of superstar Mohanlal, has signed his next project. While the young actor refrained from making any comments about his next, we hear that he will be teaming up with director Arun Gopy of Ramaleela fame.

The director had apparently impressed Pranav with a script and the project is likely to take off soon. The film will be bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under his banner Mulakuppadam Films.

Arun Gopy had posted on a social networking site: “With utmost happiness and privilege I take this opportunity to announce my next venture with Tommichayan (Tomichan Mulukupadam) starring the highly talented, loved and appreciated actor, Pranav Mohanlal. To take up the dual role of a Director and Writer for the movie, I humbly request your love, prayers and support for this project just as much as all of you helped me to tide through the difficult times of Ramaleela and achieve success.”

Pranav made his debut as hero with the Jeethu Joseph directorial Aadhi, which went on to win positive reviews. Released in January this year, the film had opened to excellent reports. The film entered the second week of its run and crossed the 20-crore mark at the Kerala box office. Pranav’s acting won him rave accolades and also created a lot of expectations about his next.

Gopy’s first film was Ramaleela starring Dileep, which was a huge box office success. Interestingly, Tomichan Mulakuppadam had bankrolled that film as well. In the cans for a long time following the arrest of its lead star Dileep, it was eventually released on September 28 last year. It had Dileep, Mukesh, Prayaga Martin, Raadhika, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan and Kalabhavan Shajohn in the star cast. Made on a budget of Rs 17 crores, Ramaleela went on to collect over Rs 50 crores at the box office.

With director Arun Gopy announcing that his next would feature Pranav, now all that his fans want to know is whether it would be an action entertainer like his debut film or a different genre altogether.
