Tollywood star and Nagarjuna - Amala’s son, Akhil Akkineni got engaged to his girlfriend, Shriya Bhupal on Friday, December 9th, 2016.
The couple have known each other for a long time and decided to opt for a formal engagement.
Only close friends and family members were invited for the event. Musician Anup Rubens along with singer Ankit Tiwari performed at the engagement entertaining the guests.
According to sources, ministers and politicians also graced the occasion creating a huge challenge for the police.
The traffic in the Banjara Hills area came to a standstill with fans making a beeline to the area to witness movie stars and other celebrities entering the venue – GVK Guest House. While speculation was rife that the Telangana Chief Minister would be attending the event, he couldn’t make it, state sources.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya attracted plenty of attention at the event too. Akhil and Shriya’s wedding is slated to take place next year.
