Dhanush’s announcement to don the director’s hat has sent shock waves across the Tamil film fraternity and amongst his fans. While congratulatory messages continue to pour in for the Pollathavan star, one wonders if Dhanush can pull it off and prove himself as a director. The actor’s maiden directorial has been titled Power Paandi, and it features veteran actor Rajkiran in the lead.

Going by information shared by reliable sources, actress Nadiya will be paired opposite Rajkiran in the film. It’s tipped to be a road drama and is said to be about the journey of a few elderly characters on a road trip. The film’s first look poster which was unveiled on Wednesday clearly hints that this is a road film featuring an ensemble of actors as bikers.

It’s believed that Dhanush will wrap the project in 35 days flat, and he will commence shooting from next week. He’s currently on a break from the shooting of Vada Chennai, in which he plays a gangster from north Madras. The film is being helmed by Vetrimaaran and bankrolled by Dhanush’s home banner, Wunderbar Films.
