Last seen in Sundar C’s Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, actor Simbu will next be seen in Venkat Prabhu’s Manaadu, which is rumoured to be a political thriller. It’s been nearly eight months since it was first announced that Prabhu and Simbu will join hands for a project and since then, there’s been no major development.

Rumours made the rounds that Manaadu will go on the floors from October 2018; but for reasons unknown the project never went on the floors. Reports also emerged that the shoot will commence last month on the occasion of Simbu’s birthday. The latest grapevine is that the project has been shelved for reasons yet unknown. However, producer Suresh Kamatchi on Tuesday took to Twitter to put to rest all the rumours with respect to the film.

“Request to stop the rumours that the movie is been dropped. It is not that easy to start a movie and stop it by your silly rumours. We are very clear that Manaadu is on. Discussions and pre-production is on full swing. Details about the movie and schedule to be revealed soon,” producer Kamatchi tweeted. Apparently, Simbu is currently in London where he has gone to shed weight for his role in the film. It is believed that the shoot will begin as soon he returns from his trip.

The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised shortly. It’s worth mentioning that Prabhu had planned to work with Simbu for a long time. However, things never fell in place as both of them were caught up with their commitments. It is rumoured that Raashi Khanna has been signed as the leading lady. Raashi, who made her Tamil debut via Imaikka Nodigal last year, currently has nearly half a dozen Tamil projects in her kitty.
