Kajol has completed shooting for her portions in Velai Illa Pattadhari – 2. Confirming it, Soundarya Rajinikanth, the director of the film tweeted: “Completed @KajolAtUN mam portions today ... #grateful #thrilled... racing towards the finish line!!!...”

Directed by Soundarya, the film has Dhanush, Kajol, Amala Paul, Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan in the star cast. With Kajol in the star cast, she will be staging a comeback to the Tamil film industry after nearly two decades. She was last seen in the Tamil movie Minsara Kanavu, which was directed by Rajiv Menon.
The film is touted to be a sequel to Dhanush’s mega hit film Velai Illa Pattadhari, which released in the year 2014. The comedy drama was directed by Velraj.
VIP 2, to be released in June this year, has music by Sean Rolden. Sameer Thahir has wielded the megaphone for this venture with Sathyaraj Natarajan roped in for editing. Produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu under the banner V Creations, the film is to be distributed by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films.
With VIP 2 nearing completion, the audio launch date is expected to be revealed quite soon.
